Resin is NOT classed as food safe and should not be eaten. It is deemed safe for incidental food contact. This means you should never use a knife to cut food on the resin part of any board as tiny fragments may cut off and end up in your food. Do not eat food if any of the resin material has chipped off and gone into the food. You don’t have to worry if food touches or sits on the resin, just make sure you only cut on the plain timber area of any serving board.
Wash your board by hand in warm soapy water. Don’t soak a wooden board. You can submerge it in water, but only for a quick dunk. Soaking can cause the board to warp. Don’t put it in the dishwasher, or use harsh concentrated cleaners and let it dry completely.
